I have asked my friend to check the locations described on the following site to see if he can locate it.Īlso on my recently built desktop PC, the Realtek HD Audio Manager has been changed to a newer Realtek Audio Console app, that may need to be installed from the Windows Store. On other computers this is set in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, but I wasn't able to locate it when I last tried. My suspicion is that the headphone is being detected as a headset (combined headphone with mic TRRS jack), which is causing the built-in mic to be disabled.

I would like to reinstall an older version of the driver to confirm that this is the problem, but Lenovo only offers the latest driver for download. When I checked he was running the latest drivers, but I reinstalled the drivers, just in case. This lines up with the release of the latest drivers (.1 May 14, 2020). He told me that prior to the end of May he was able to connect his headphones and his built-in mic would continue to work.

My friends laptop, a ThinkPad T470, is experiencing the same issue as yours. I will assist anyone that wants to help with anything. I would appreciate it VERY much if someone can find me a solution. If there exist some software that will help me please let me know too. So I tried to download the driver from their site but that didn't work either because that made the hd audio manager to disappear completely.

To fix this I tried to update my audio drivers but they were up to date (using lenovo vintage and from lenovo support) but if I look at the latest Realtek audio version I can see that my version is old. (the attached picture shows two devices but the other device is always here even if I unplug my headphone and when I enable it on its own it doesn't record any sound)Īnd I saw a solution for this problem somewhere else, they said to go to hd audio manager and split the audio devices, n=but there is no advanced settings and no split option. It's like windows unplugs my internal mic when I plug my headphone and names my headphone the same name. When I plug in my headphones and go to the sound settings then sound control panel, there is no new device that appears. Hello, I have Lenovo y520 and I want to use my internal microphone while headphone is plugged in.
